Breaking down barriers to a brighter future
At the Y, we ignite the potential in people to create a brighter future for themselves. Our free employment programs address systematic and personal barriers to finding work through compassionate, individualized guidance. Youth and adults become qualified and capable, receiving training, hands-on experience, and real opportunities that set them up for success.

Jumpstart to Employment
Young people (ages 16–30) develop the skills and confidence to find and keep a job in today's market. They earn a living allowance, gain free certifications, and connect with local employers.
Jumpstart is funded by the Government of Canada's Youth Employment and Skills Strategy Program.

SAFE (Support and Finding Employment)
The SAFE program will serve participants who identify as women and have experienced barriers to employment. Employability and skills training will be provided through group sessions hosted throughout the year in a supportive classroom setting.
SAFE is funded by the Province of British Columbia’s Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills.

Connections
The Connections program will help those who identify as men find meaningful and sustainable employment by providing personalized support, resources, skills training, and work experience placements.
Connections is funded by the Government of Canada’s Opportunities Fund for Persons with Disabilities.
