Birthday Party FAQ
The cost to book a party at the Kelowna Family Y or H2O is $200 for members and $250 for non-members.
Birthday bookings are available on Saturdays.
Two time slots are available:
- 11:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
- 3:00–6:00 p.m.
You may book your party at the Kelowna Family Y or H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre.
You may choose between a pool party or a gymnasium party.
Gymnasium parties are only available at the Kelowna Family Y. This will reserve half the gymnasium and a party room with tables and chairs.
Pool parties are available at both the Kelowna Family Y and H2O. This will reserve a party room with tables and chairs and provide access to the pool area. The pool area will be shared with the public.
Please note that birthday bookings reserve space and equipment only. You will be responsible for supplies like food and decorations. YMCA staff will not lead activities and will not stay in the pool or gym with the group.
- Both party options include a room booking with tables and chairs.
- Pool parties include access to pool equipment (pfds, toys, etc.).
- Gymnasium parties include a selection of sporting equipment such as balls and nets.
- You can rent a bouncy castle for an additional $50.
You will be responsible for all supplies, food and decorations. You will also be responsible for setting up and decorating the room (table and chairs will already be set up). You may arrive half an hour before the scheduled party time to set up and decorate.
Cold or frozen food items can be refrigerated. Alcohol and other age-restricted substances are not permitted in our family-friendly facilities.
The party room can be locked when no one is in it to secure gifts and other personal belongings inside. It's also recommended to store clothes and valuables in a change room locker while in the pool.
A YMCA staff member will be available to help with setup, cold food storage, distributing gym/pool equipment and locking/unlocking the party room.
You may invite up to 20 child guests (ages 0–18). Supervising adults (ages 19+) are welcome at no extra cost. The party room will accommodate a maximum of 30 people.
If you are booking a pool party, you must ensure that minimum adult:child ratios are kept in the pool for child safety. Ratios are as follows:
- 1:3 adults to children ages 1–7
- 1:5 adults to children ages 8–9
Children under 8 must always have a responsible caregiver (age 16 or older) with them. While in the pool, the caregiver must be within arm's reach and attired in swim wear.
