Book a gymnasium or pool party for children and youth ages 0–18 at the Kelowna Family Y or H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre! Both party options reserve a party room with tables and chairs, and we encourage you to have fun and make it your own by bringing food and decorations. Birthday Party FAQ
The cost to book a party at the Kelowna Family Y or H2O is $200 for members and $250 for non-members. Both prices do not include tax.
Birthday booking time slots are as follows:
- Kelowna Family Y: Saturdays and Sundays 12:30 p.m.–3:30 p.m.
- H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre: Saturdays and Sundays 12:30 p.m.–3:30 p.m.
Choose between a gymnasium or pool party.
Gymnasium parties are only available at the Kelowna Family Y. This will reserve half the gymnasium and a party room with 3 rectangular tables and 25 chairs. Gymnasium parties include a selection of sporting equipment such as balls, nets, and gym equipment.
Pool parties are available at both the Kelowna Family Y and H2O. This will reserve a party room with 3 rectangular tables and 25 chairs and provide access to the pool area, which will be shared with the public. For pool parties, you and your guests can continue to swim past the allotted time slot if all your items are removed from the party room.
The end of the time slot indicates when the party room needs to be cleaned. For example, if you have a party booked for 12:30 p.m.-3:30 p.m., you may continue to swim past 3:30 p.m. as long as your personal items are cleared from the party room. However, you may not come before your allotted time to swim.
Please note that birthday bookings reserve space and equipment only. You will be responsible for all supplies, food, decorations, and supervision of all attending.
YMCA staff will not lead activities and will not stay in the pool or gym with the group. A YMCA staff member will be available to help with cold food storage, distributing gym/pool equipment, and unlocking the party room. Alcohol and other age-restricted substances are not permitted in our family-friendly facilities.
You may invite up to 25 guests total including those supervising. Anyone over 25 guests will be charged a facility drop-in. The party room will accommodate a maximum of 30 people.
If you are booking a pool party, you must follow the minimum adult to child ratios for child safety.
Pool ratios are as follows:
- 1:3 adults to children ages 1–7
- 1:5 adults to children ages 8–9
Children under 8 must always have a responsible caregiver (age 16 or older) with them. While in the pool, the caregiver must be within arm's reach and attired in swimwear.

Payment is required at the time of booking. You must sign all guests in at Member Services when you arrive.
Please contact us before your party date if you need to cancel.
A full refund will be provided if the party is cancelled 14 days or more before the party date.
A 50% refund will be provided if the party is cancelled 7 days before the party date.
A refund will not be provided if the party is cancelled less than 7 days before the party date.
Financial Assistance
As a charity, the Y believes no family should be turned away because of financial circumstances. Thanks to generous donors, the Y is able to provide financial assistance to families who could not otherwise afford the full cost of Y programs and memberships.
