YMCA Community Roots Initiative
The YMCA Community Roots Initiative is about reimaging closed Elementary schools into local spaces for affordable physical activity and belonging for all members of the community.
Programs offered at this centre:
Youth Activities
From Drop-in sports to learn to play programs, whether new to sport or seasoned, there’s something to spark joy for youth of all ages.
Adult Activities
Get active and make new friends while you learn a new sport or play an old favorite. Recreation and fitness for all ages and mobility levels.
Family Activities
Spend time as a family engaging in physical activity, with opportunities to socialize with other parents and children.
Rentals
Rent the gymnasium for sports games, practices, and tournaments, or for recreation programs, community events, performances, and other activities. Spaces are available for one-time bookings or ongoing rentals.
Gymnasiums include Giant’s Head Elementary, Parkway Elementary, and Carmi Elementary.
