They’re so much more than a financial institution…they’re a credit union: a team comprised of dedicated staff and members who create local partnerships and truly make an impact in the lives of our community members.
Interior Savings’ staff not only volunteer and give back but also fund programs and services that are making our community stronger: empowering parents; supporting mental wellness; helping reduce social isolation amongst seniors; and, building a cooperative local economy where everyone has the opportunity to flourish.
Team Interior Savings has contributed to the success of the Y’s Cycle for Strong Kids event by growing both their team size and amount donated each year. In 2018, their team boasted a record 49 riders and raised a whopping $10,755!!! This enthusiastic group goes above and beyond, planning events amongst their staff to raise dollars for Cycle, like bake sales and pub nights. This year, Interior Savings Cycle team captains Shawna Lees and Jaime Edmondson are leading the charge with some creative “donate to participate” events, like an ice cream social, hot lunches and a bingo night.
“Our staff have been involved in the Cycle for Strong Kids for 11 years and are excited to once again bring a large team,” says Dave Cronquist, Interior Savings Senior Vice President, Strategy and Organizational Efficiency. “We pride ourselves on having a positive impact on the community, and helping kids get a fair start is great way to do that. It’s one of the ways we make a positive difference in people’s lives.”
Over the years, Interior Savings has shown tremendous support and help the Y change lives by:
- Providing critically needed specialty health and program equipment through their Community Investment Fund,
- Helping bring the Kelowna Family Y’s Capital Expansion Campaign to reality with a major gift, and
- Making the YMCA’s Annual Healthy Kids Day possible as the events presenting sponsor.
